Engine

For the engine, no major changes have occurred on the Austrians did not touch anything at the inner workings of the mill 250 and 350. the main change concerns the electric starter, the latter is connected to the starter freewheel to the ignition rotor, a new design to increase the reliability of the starter.
Both "small" SX-F receive a new pump cover in improved water tightness. The harness has been optimized. On the 250 SX-F only, the gearbox from 6 to 5-speed, but without changing the ratios. This deletion brings him a weight gain of 250 grams.
Changes are a little different on the 450 SX-F, the base engine is very specific to this bike. The piston receives a reinforced axis. A little higher up in the engine, the head gasket now has three layers, the camshaft is lightened with an automatic decompressor review.
The electric starter is now exclusive: we can no longer install kick. The removal of the location of the crankcase to save 300 grams.
Internal clutch hub is strengthened while the diaphragm spring is a little firmer. The geometry of the gear teeth box was reviewed and finally the silent changes internally to reduce the noise level of the bike.
